An educator of 32 years, Ana has experience teaching at the elementary and secondary levels. She taught elementary in a self-contained classroom and was also a foreign language teacher at the elementary and secondary grade levels. Later she taught secondary social studies and became an instructional coach. After eighteen years in the classroom, she obtained her Master's in Educational Leadership with a Principal certification and currently works at Education Service Center, Region 20 in San Antonio, TX. Two of her passions are creating a positive and healthy learning culture and ensuring all students have an equal opportunity for a great education. Much of her work has been in urban Title I schools where she had great success teaching diverse populations and helping populations of English learners, and Special Education students achieve great success. She is a second language learner and enjoys learning new languages and traveling. She participated in a teacher exchange to Barcelona, Spain, and spent much of her early youth in Mexico. Originally from San Angelo, TX, she now lives in New Braunfels, TX. Ana is married, and has a son. Her family spends most of their time exploring nature, or on the golf course.
